https://padlet.com/clmaynor1113/jy27p0yht1s I enjoyed using the application Padlet. Once I added a few pictures to the padlet, it was a lot easier to navigate on how to use it. The first few pictures did not want to post right and I had to ask the teacher for help. In this project, I was the Technical Coordinator. I enjoyed this job because I liked being able to post all the pictures together on the site. as a group, we used this website to build a collage of different Solar System videos and pictures. I could also use this in my own classroom the same way. I can find videos and pictures on a certain subject, so that all of the information is grouped together and is easier to find. We used the Standard 1.E.3: The student will demonstrate an understanding of the patterns of the Sun and the Moon and the Sun's effect on Earth. This is a first grade standard, which is Early Childhood Education standard. It can easily be transitioned into a second grade standard which is an Elementary Education Standard. As a group, we also incorporated songs into our project so that we could include Music Education as well. Overall, this project was a great way to bring different majors together in a fun way. I enjoyed the padlet application and thought it was very easy to understand.

Digital Citizenship is important because it shows our students how to protect and identify their own privacy. It instructs them on what they should and should not post on social media.
During our project we had a Project Manager, Content Experts, and a Technical Director. I was one of the content experts, which mean I help look up dome of the facts and websites that were needed. I found the video that we used and I also found one of the games that we posted onto our flyer. I also helped our technical director put all the different items on our flyer. I liked this application more than I like the Wordle application we used first. This application was very straight-forward. It had step by step instructions on how to add photos, videos, and titles to our flyer. I could use this in my classroom to introduce the beginning of new chapters. I could put all the information and construct a flyer to start off the chapter. I could make a flyer for upcoming events as well. IN this project we used the ISTE standard 3: Citizen, because we model and mentor students on how to identify and protect students privacy. As a group, we also used the ISTE Standard 4: Collaboration. We as a group had to plan and collaborate on who was going to participate in each job and at the end we had to collaborate on how we brought all the information together. https://www.smore.com/x4dhn-digital-citizenship is the website where you can view the entire flyer. I started to use the web site word cloud, and at first it seemed to work fine. When I went to publish the picture it would not submit. I tried multiple times and could not get it to publish. I finally went to wordle.com. After completing my information on wordle, I tried to submit it and it would not work either. I was instructed to download a software in order to complete the wordle. I finally went to the website worditout.com. I successfully completely the project. This website gave me exact instructions on how to edit my word document. When I went to save the image I had a difficult time though. After multiple times and several help from friends I finally got my word document to post in my blog. The worditout.com website would be a easy tool to use in my classroom. I want to teach 2nd or 3rd grade, and I feel like the kids at that age would enjoy using computers to tell about themselves. This website would come in handy as a first day of school project. The kids could write one about themselves so that everyone in the class could learn about each other, or I could write one about myself to tell the students about me. I could also use this to introduce new chapters and some of the main ideas from the chapter. I could also use worditout.com to teach the kids about different characters in books, stories, ect. that we are covering in class. |
